Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Car Drop Off Arrival and Dismissal at Woodland

Every day, close to 1200 people (students, faculty, and staff) arrive and leave from Woodland. This is a significant undertaking. Please do not drop off students prior to 8:15 am when our doors open.  Drop offs should only occur in the drop off loop in the visitor lot. Students are not to be dropped off in and cars should not enter the bus loop.  During arrival and dismissal, left turns are not permitted into or out of our driveway. Please plan accordingly.  Students are expected to be seated in homeroom by 8:35 am to be considered on time.  

Dismissal begins at 2:45 pm and car riders will start to exit the building around 2:50 pm. All car riders will be dismissed to the drop off loop in the visitor lot in an orderly fashion. You will be asked for your child’s name while in line for pickup and your child will then be called from the waiting area. Even when the drop off line looks long, it does move quite quickly. Just as in the morning, left turns are not permitted into or out of our driveway.  

Walkers Arrival and Dismissal at Woodland

Students walking to school should plan to arrive at Woodland between 8:15 am and 8:25 am. We encourage parents and guardians to practice walking the route to and from school with your child prior to the first day. Students are expected to be seated in homeroom by 8:35 am to be considered on time. The doors to our school open at 8:15 am.  

Walkers are dismissed at 2:45 pm. At dismissal, we dismiss walkers in an orderly fashion considering which way they start their walk home. Please help make sure your child knows which applies to them:

• Group 1:  Students exiting out the school’s  driveway taking a right down North Vine Street towards Congress Street

• Group 2:  Students exiting out the school’s driveway taking a left down North Vine Street towards Highland Street

• Group 3:  Students exiting the rear of the school on Cypress Road
