About WES
Woodland Elementary School, newly built and opened in 2016, serves Milford’s students in Grade 3 through Grade 5. Housing approximately 1,025 students and 150 professional and support staff, Woodland is a large and busy school.
Woodland offers a comprehensive elementary education, focusing on the foundational skills and standards of the upper elementary grade span. All students receive instruction in core subjects: Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies/History. Additionally, all students receive a robust related arts curriculum in Physical Education, Music, Art, and STEM. Students are also offered opportunities to participate in our Music Strings and Beginner Band programs.
Additional educational opportunities are offered to students gaining proficiency in English through our English Language Development program. Special Education services are offered to students that qualify for those supports if they have been identified as having a disability. Counseling services are offered through our regular education and Special Education programs for students needing support with social-emotional skills. Finally, additional academic support is offered for students needing interventions in Reading and Mathematics.
